After more than 30 years as a workhorse on a New England ranch, the old and faithful horse was no longer useful.

His cruel owner let him live on the whims of fate. Therefore, Arthur had to jump from one dealer to another.

During these hard times in his life, the only consolation was his friend Max, who shared the same fate as him. Together, their struggle for life was a little easier.

Fortunately, their suffering ended one beautiful day when a kind-hearted woman, Cindy Daigle, noticed these poor creatures on a website.

The founder of Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary rushed to rescue the two poor horses from a heartless trader as they were about to go up for auction.

Cindy knew that a starving, exhausted horse that was in terrible condition was likely to die on the trip. So her rescue arrived in time.

After months of misery, Arthur and Max were very scared, weak and confused, but as soon as they arrived at the sanctuary, their lives changed.

With each passing day they looked better. Cindy did everything she could to help them recover.

After two years of hard work and Cindy’s effective care, the comfort of the two horses and their compassion for each other led Arthur and Max to make a full recovery.

The duo finally overcame their tragedy and enjoyed a peaceful and happy life together.
